Channing Wagner, Principal

I am a proud graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and Averett University, where I earned my master’s degree in Administration and Leadership.

The 2026–2027 school year marks my fourth year as principal of Woolridge Elementary, and I truly feel so fortunate to serve this amazing school community. Before becoming principal, I had the opportunity to serve as an assistant principal, Title I math teacher, and classroom teacher, all within Chesterfield County Public Schools.

Chesterfield County has always been home for me. I grew up here and attended Chesterfield County Public Schools for elementary, middle, and high school, which makes serving this community even more special.

Outside of school, I am a proud wife and mom to three boys, Tyler, Jack, and Brett. My husband, Shawn, and I love spending time together as a family. On weekends and throughout the summer, you can usually find us traveling in our camper or cheering on our boys from the sidelines at baseball and basketball games.

I am incredibly grateful to be a part of the Woolridge family and honored to serve our Wildcats each and every day!

I am so happy to be a Woolridge Wildcat.

I  grew up in a small town in Connecticut and moved to Chesterfield, Virginia in 2003.   I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Western CT University, and a Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Western Governors University. I have worked as an instructional designer, a Title I intervention teacher and a classroom teacher. During my free time, I enjoy going to shows on Broadway, traveling and spending time with my family and friends. I am looking forward to a great school year. I cannot wait to partner with students, families, and the community to continue the tradition of excellence at Woolridge Elementary!
